If you have mature skin, you know the struggle with under eye concealer. The creasing, cakey mess that happens as soon as you apply concealer has caused me to wash everything off and start my makeup application all over has happened more times than I can count. I knew there had to be a better way, so I set out to figure out the best way to apply under eye concealer and I can't wait to share it with you.
Before I break down the steps for you, here are the products I'm using.
Color Corrector (I use Fair)
Concealer (my color is 05)
After my morning skincare routine, I do my foundation, avoiding my under eye area. After my foundation is applied, I lightly spray my concealer brush with setting spray and apply that lightly under my eyes. I never apply concealer without using a color corrector first, so that is my next step. I concentrate the color corrector on the dark areas and blend it out. Then I lightly spray my concealer brush again before adding the concealer. Less is definitely more when you're using concealer, and after I blend the concealer out I set everything with a bit of setting powder and I'm ready for the day.
This technique has kept my concealer in place during this hot summer. I find that following these steps not only help with keeping it in place, but it also helps with the creasing.
If you want to watch how I created this look, here's a step-by-step video showing the process.
