If you’re like me, when life and schedules get hectic and overwhelming, I get to a point where I feel like I need to recharge my batteries. My mind and body need a break.
I’m stressed. I’m tired. And my body is telling me it’s time for a day off.
When life gets crazy, it shows on my face, I’m moving a little slower, I have a little brain fog, and (usually) my house is a mess too!!
Do you ever feel like that? If you do, then it’s time for a rejuvenation day!
While it certainly would be nice to schedule an entire spa day or a relaxing trip to the beach, that’s not always an option.
In the meantime, I have found a few ways to pamper myself at home, for little to no cost so I can get back to feeling like myself again.
With a little planning, you can have your very own at home mind and body rejuvenation.
In this post, I’m sharing tips on pampering your body. In part 2, I’ll share tips on rejuvenating your mind. So, let’s get this relaxation day started!!
First, check your calendar for a day when are able to stay home all day.

Next, pick up a few things at the grocery store, if you don’t already have these things on hand.
- Your favorite healthy snacks and detoxifying foods like strawberries, grapefruit, green tea, broccoli, kale, and apples.
- 2 Lemons
- Good Olive Oil
- Grass Fed Collagen
- Organic Brown Sugar
- Jojoba Oil or Coconut Oil
- Epsom Salt

Start your rejuvenation day by sleeping in a little. Even a few extra minutes can give you the feeling that you’re getting away with something. That’s just the little mind boost you need to get this day started off on the right foot.
First thing in the morning, start your day with a glass of filtered water with a few slices of lemon. Lemon water helps detox your body, rejuvenates your skin, and boosts your energy and mood.
While you’re drinking your lemon water, mix up 2-3 teaspoons of olive oil and a teaspoon of Grass Fed Collagen. Saturate your dry hair with this mixture to add moisture and body. Wrap your hair in an old towel and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Wash well. Here’s why you’ll want to keep Grass Fed Collagen in your pantry all the time.
After your shower, let your hair dry naturally. In addition to the olive oil treatment, skipping the blow dryer is one more way to give your hair a day off too.
Drench your face and body in a great moisturizer. I prefer natural moisturizers like jojoba oil or coconut oil. Both are very nurturing to your skin. Skip makeup to give your face a day to breathe.
Before getting on the with the rest of the day, take a little extra oil and slather it on your feet and put on some comfy socks. This is best done before bed, but if you’re staying home anyway, why not!!
Get outside today. Walk the dog, check the mail, just take some time during the day to exercise and soak in a little vitamin D. If you can’t get outside, try doing an indoor workout or some stretching exercises to get your blood flowing and your heart pumping.
During the day, nourish your body by eating healthy and drinking lots of water. Earlier in the week, you picked up healthy snacks and all the makings for a great salad, complete with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. Your body will soak up all the nutrients it’s been craving. Read about Eating Healthy here. When we get busy, we often forget to take care of our most basic needs like good rest, healthy meals, and plenty of water.
What you do with the rest of your day is up to you. When I do a mind and body rejuvenation, I still cook a meal, do a little laundry and maybe even pick up the house a little just to feel productive. The fact that I’m being productive with no make-up, socks on my feet and my hair pulled back, helps me remember that I can take my time and maybe even squeeze in a short nap!!
At the end of the day, it’s time for the best part, a relaxing bath with a twist. Instead of bubble bath, it’s a detox bath.
Draw a hot bath and add 1-2 cups of Epsom Salts. You may have heard about Epsom Salts from your grandma, but once you start using them, you won’t ever want to be without them. They are Ah-Mazing for detoxifying (think cold and flu season), muscle aches, headaches, migraines, sunburns, and so much more. For the best results, soak for at least 10-15 with only the Epsom Salts, before using any soap or shampoo.
Your Epsom Salt bath will help you get one of the best nights sleep you’ve had in a long time.
Right before you step into the bath, mix up a 1/2 cup brown sugar with 1/4 olive oil. This is the most moisturizing and exfoliating body scrub ever!! Pay particular attention to your heels and elbows!! After the bath, moisturize again and don’t forget the socks!
Before bed, end your day of rejuvenation with a cup of green tea.
In the morning, you’ll feel like a new woman, ready to tackle the world again. Until it’s time for that trip to the beach!!!
