You stopped by this page because you would like to meet me. Really? There are so many more interesting people in the blog world. Really…and I even have a page devoted to them called Around the Blog World.

But, since you insist…

There are a few things in life that I am quite passionate about. First, is my Christian faith and morning coffee. I also have strong beliefs in the proper way to fix and eat chili. Being from Kentucky, this is more of an issue than one might realize. If you are anywhere in the proximity of a chili cook-off, the first murmurings you will hear, before taste is even considered, is “noodles or no noodles?” I love fixing a great pot of Texas chili (which will never, EVER have noodles) and am so tickled to hold a trophy for winning a cook-off using my grandpa’s chili recipe. When I’m not following his chili recipe to a “T,” you can find me tweaking a variety of other recipes in my collection or creating a new concoction of my own.

My family is one of my other passions. I’m a wife to a technical and mechanical genius, at least in this writer’s humble opinion. If it can be fixed, my guy can do it. Because of his technical gifts and hard work, I am blessed to be able to consider myself a stay at home mom to two preteens. Though admittedly biased, they are the “best boy/girl in the world.” Each child can be equally silly and philosophical, sometimes in the same five minutes.

Because of my choice to stay home with my children, I’ve pinched a few pennies and learned to make the most of what we had. I’ve tried lots of recipes, tips and tricks involving domestic duties which included both successes and flops. Both of which, I intend to share.

Speaking of flops, I believe none of us are perfect, hence the name for the website. In my opinion, when we read or hear other ladies, sometimes our first tendency, even unintentionally, is to compare ourselves and note where we fall short. We are all gifted, albeit in different areas.

My hope for Just Doing My Best is that it will become a community of readers who can learn from each other. The idea behind the name Just Doing My Best is from my dad, who would ask me if I had done my best when I felt like I had failed due to a less than stellar grade or performance. Most of the time, the answer was “yes, it was my best.” Then, I realized our best is all we have to offer. We can continually learn and practice, but even then, our best is still all we have.

Thanks for joining me and I hope you will introduce yourself and leave comments or tips of your own. I’d like to meet you and learn from you also. If you need to contact me, you can either leave a comment under a post or click here to send an email.
