I love having ham during the Christmas season. Ham is one of those Christmas must-haves that I look forward to each year but I don’t look forward to the accompanying price tag.
Save-A-Lot is rolling out a promotion showing how you can “Feed your Family a Holiday Meal for $15.” I love a challenge so I went to my local Save-A-Lot to see how I could do. Of course, the first thing I picked up was a ham. For $15.30 I bought all the necessary ingredients for a delicious Christmas meal, less any pantry staples. My total for the meal is actually under $15 since there will be potatoes and onions left for another meal.
Our Christmas meal will include: Ham, applesauce, (there’s just something about ham and applesauce in the same meal that I just love) mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, green beans with onion, Mrs. Smith’s Pumpkin Pie and birthday cake. (My kids make a cake each year in honor of Jesus’ birthday.)
That’s alot of food for $15, especially when you consider there’s a ham in there! If you go to Save-A-Lot’s website and sign up for their Smart Shoppers Club, you will receive a printable coupon to save $5 off your $20 purchase. By the way, did you know they take manufacturer coupons too? They have fantastic prices on most of their items and the coupons sweeten the deal. Like any grocery store though, you do need to know your prices because not everything is cheaper. But, there are enough bargains (like the ham!) to make it worth a visit, in my opinion.
