In setting up my home, I realized early on that there will be problem spots. Instead of trying to fight human nature and achieve an immaculate home,  I decided to make the weaknesses of my family’s organization work for us instead of against us.

Simply put, I knew it would be a losing battle to get 2 children and a husband to properly hang bath towels each and every night. Instead, I found hangers that did not require care and precision. The hanger below is actually a coat rack but works beautifully in our main bath.  The following picture was taken immediately after the children’s showers and is how they left the towels. I think it looks great, considering I never have to remind them anymore of how to leave the bathroom for the next person. As long as the towels are off the floor, I’m happy.

messy towel solution

The second solution I have for messy bath towels is for the master bath with little wall space. This gadget has “arms” that attach to one fixed place on the wall. I found mine on clearance at a specialty bath shoppe.

The coat rack looks lovely! I use hooks for our robes in the bathroom, but didn’t think to hang the towels up there.

Ok, the hangers are a perfect idea. My three boys throw their towels anywhere and don’t hang them very well when they do attempt to put them away, lol! I love the hanger idea. Thanks!

I wonder how this would work for hanging hand towels near the sink. One of my pet peeves is that the kids bunch the towel up on the towel rack all the time. If I used a coat hook type rack, it wouldn’t matter how they hung them …
